Volleyball tournament on 8th March 2025

The first team-based Höntsy tournament of the year is here! The games will be played with the same teams from start to finish. You don’t need a team to participate! You sign up as an individual, and as the organizer, we will create the most balanced teams possible.

The tournament will most likely be played in two different skill levels at the stunning new school in South Hervanta. Lately, these tournaments have been in high demand, so it’s a good idea to secure your spot early. The games will be played in exact six-player teams, so the last few sign-ups might end up missing out.

The tournament will take place on Saturday, March 8th, at South Hervanta School, approximately from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM. A balcony stand is available for those on a break or other spectators. The exact schedule depends on the number of participants – if there are fewer people, the tournament will end earlier. If there are many players, we will divide into shifts, so no one’s tournament will last the entire day and evening…

This tournament is team-based, meaning that registered individuals will be formed into teams that will play together from start to finish. The format depends on the number of teams, but typically, there is a round-robin stage, followed by playoff matches for everyone. We aim to form balanced teams with a mix of different player types. There will be plenty of games – about 8–10 full volleyball sets throughout the day. You’ll definitely get plenty of chances to hit the ball!

Refereeing

Teams will referee each other’s games, meaning that each team will also have referee duties.

Skill Level and Placement

When signing up, you can express a preferred skill level, but we cannot guarantee that it will be granted.

Players will be placed based on the organizers’ knowledge of the players and previous tournament results. For new players, we will also rely on the information you provide about yourself. If you are new to Höntsy, please fill in this section carefully – the easiest way is to compare yourself to a player we know! Likewise, if you are a regular but, for some reason (e.g., minor injury), not at your usual level, please let us know.
